At the heart of what I do lies an interest in solving problems. For every organisation these problems can be very different and take any number of forms: a large painting requiring digitisation, a whole storage unit of records and ephemera to be catalogued and captured, a collection of technical drawings stored haphazardly in an industrial facility.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve developed my skills as an archivist, as a digitisation practitioner and as a manager. You could describe my skillset as eclectic, possibly even eccentric, but it is broad, flexible and adaptable. In the development of these skills I have cultivated a whole network of specialists, from archivists, conservators and curators, to web designers, interactive developers, 3D scanning specialists, digitisation contractors and more.

The digitisation of cultural objects using 3D capture techniques can provide a unique way of presenting and using such objects in imaginative and accessible ways. There are a number of 3D capture and visualisation technologies available. I have 20 years experience of digitisation in a cultural heritage setting. From capture to processing, project management and equipment selection, to standards and outputs, I have learned and practiced most disciplines from the most humble of digitisation set-ups to a fully-fitted studio. Collections Management encompasses many activities; from documentation to policy development, ethics to compliance, access and security. I offer services that can provide advice, guidance and delivery towards these aspects of collections management.
